Why do demonstrators do it…

…when the persons against whom they are demonstrating are not present, and don’t give tuppence anyway. It has always seemed to me to be very odd that, when mass demonstrations aimed at Government mismanagement , incompetence or folly take place, they often happen on a Saturday.

It seems to me that its fairly pointless. You only have to look at the result of all that marching against Bliar’s foreign misadventures to know that they take not a blind bit of notice. Yes, it spawned a few reams of print, but the bombs still fell, and bullets flew. And how many died?

Why not bring the place to a standstill on a weekday and demand that they come out of their cosy (and costly to us) Parliamentary club and explain themselves? That would be much more productive, would show them that we mean business and that they are there to represent the entire electorate and not just the ones with the deepest pockets.

A dedicated domain!

Just so that anyone viewing my site didn’t get peppered with adverts (I hate thm , myself), I decided to give WordPress some of my pension. I discovered that also entitled me to a “free” domain, so here is the first post from there….

Ranting about recycling.

A very intertesing, and somewhat disturbing article from a relative…

Dinah's Ramblings

Living the life I do recycling is second nature to me. In fact it is one of the things that I have done all my life. I remember standing on tip toes pushing coloured glass into the appropriate boxes at the bottle bank and the satisfying sound when I’d thrown it hard enough to make it smash inside. ..although you could never be sure you’d smashed your glass or just lots of glass that was already there.

Fast forward a few decades and bottle banks are few and far between because recycling has become more mainstream and in a desperate attempt to save money and their reliance on land fill sites, councils now do curb side recycling.

So everyone recycles right? Everyone is doing their little bit? Because it’s made so easy for us. Just separate your rubbish at source, give it a rinse and let them take it away…
